Blackfoot teacher taken to hospital after being hit by SUV

BLACKFOOT — A coach was taken to nan infirmary Tuesday greeting aft she was deed by a vehicle. 

It happened aft 8 a.m. Blackfoot Police officers responded to nan intersection of Walker Street and York Drive for a “pedestrian accident.” 

According to Lt. Blake Davis, a coach was doing crosswalk work erstwhile she was deed by a Mazda SUV driven by a man. She was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center pinch non-life-threatening injuries. 

Davis said nan driver was not wounded successful nan clang and nary students were involved.

The driver was not cited, Davis added. Police are still investigating nan case. 

Blackfoot School District #55 Assistant Superintendent Ryan Wilson told EastIdahoNews.com nan female teaches astatine Riverbend Elementary School. 

“We person spoken to her, and she is recovering,” Wilson said. “A bully reminder for everybody to conscionable look some ways earlier you are crossing a thoroughfare and to person vehicles slow down, particularly successful schoolhouse zones, and conscionable beryllium cautious arsenic we are each sharing nan road.”
