INL building briefly evacuated due to report of suspicious package

IDAHO FALLS — A building connected nan Idaho National Laboratory Idaho Falls field was concisely evacuated Thursday owed to a study of a suspicious package.

INL spokeswoman Lori McNamara tells EastIdahoNews.com respective 100 labor were evacuated from nan Engineering Research Office Building astatine 2525 Fremont Avenue astatine astir 2:30 p.m.

“The occurrence section responded to a study of a suspicious package,” McNamara said. “Out of an abundance of caution, nan labor were evacuated.”

The Idaho Falls Fire Department, Idaho Falls Police Department and nan Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded and searched nan building during nan evacuation.

After a thorough investigation, it was wished location was “no emergency,” according to McNamara.

Employees were allowed to return astatine astir 3:15 p.m.
