Teenager dies, child hospitalized after vehicle goes into canal

BONNEVILLE COUNTY — A 17-year-old has died aft a conveyance he was successful went into a canal complete nan weekend. 

On Sunday astatine 8:45 p.m., a caller reported a two-vehicle clang astatine nan intersection of 145th North (North County Line Road) and 115th East. The car was reported submerged successful nan adjacent canal.

The Bonneville and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded on pinch Jefferson Central Fire and Idaho Falls Ambulance. 

Deputies trained successful h2o and dive rescue were capable to extricate 2 kids, ages 17 and 12, from nan vehicle, nan Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said successful a release. 

Both of them were taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center wherever nan 17-year-old died. The 12-year-old remains successful nan infirmary arsenic of Monday morning, nan sheriff’s agency said.
