Two people rescued after boat explodes, catches fire, then sinks

CUSTER COUNTY — Two group were rescued aft a vessel they were connected exploded and past caught fire.

This happened connected nan Mackay Reservoir connected Friday. Deputies from nan Custer County Sheriff’s Office responded to nan incident astatine 8:45 p.m. 

Two group were connected committee a 23 ft Cabin Cruiser erstwhile nan incident occurred. Pictures show a large plume of achromatic fume pinch orangish flames connected nan water. 

The 2 group were incapable to get life jackets owed to nan fire. They abandoned nan vessel and jumped into nan 52-degree water, nan sheriff’s agency said successful a news release. 

Another boater rescued them and brought them to shore. They were evaluated and treated by Mackay Ambulance. One personification was burned but declined aesculapian transport, nan sheriff’s agency said.
