Bonneville County Chief Deputy Coroner Greg Black identified nan 17-year-old arsenic Jade “Dawson” Grover of Idaho Falls. He said Grover’s decease was caused by drowning and was an accident. He died astatine nan infirmary connected Sunday night.

BONNEVILLE COUNTY — A 17-year-old has died aft a conveyance he was successful went into a canal complete nan weekend. 

On Sunday astatine 8:45 p.m., a caller reported a two-vehicle clang astatine nan intersection of 145th North (North County Line Road) and 115th East. The car was reported submerged successful nan adjacent canal.

The Bonneville and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Offices responded on pinch Central Fire Department and Idaho Falls Ambulance. 

Deputies trained successful h2o and dive rescue were capable to extricate 2 kids, ages 17 and 12, from nan vehicle, nan Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said successful a release. 

Both of them were taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center wherever nan 17-year-old died. The 12-year-old remains successful nan infirmary arsenic of Monday morning, nan sheriff’s agency said. 

“Deputies wished nan juveniles were attempting to move eastbound from nan Jefferson County broadside of nan intersection (4500 East) onto 145th North (North County Line Road) and grounded to output to a pickup pulling a vessel that was westbound connected 145th North,” deputies said. 

The car, a Chevy Malibu, was deed connected nan driver’s broadside and went disconnected nan roadway and into nan canal. 

The investigation is ongoing.
